CUNY Assistant or Associate Professor - Human Resource Management in New York, New York

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management of the Zicklin School of Business is seeking to fill an open tenure-track position of Assistant or Associate Professor in Human Resource Management. The successful candidate is expected to pursue or promote a rigorous research agenda in human resource management; demonstrate ability and willingness to work with faculty and doctoral students in this and related fields; and continue to enhance the department's reputation in these areas. The successful candidate must be able to contribute to course and curriculum development; to students' learning and career development, and to the department, school, and college as an active colleague.

The Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management includes a diverse faculty group of approximately 100 full-time and part-time faculty involved in teaching and research related to an array of subject matter areas. These areas include: a) Business, Society, and Sustainability; b) Entrepreneurship; c) Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management; d) Operations Management; and e) Strategic Management. The department offers both a BBA and an Executive MS in Human Resource Management as well as an MBA and a PhD in management.

The Zicklin School of Business is the largest AACSB-accredited business school in the United States and offers an array of full-time, part-time, executive, and honors programs leading to BBA, MBA, MS, and PhD degrees. The Zicklin School of Business has seven departments including the Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management, Stan Ross Department of Accountancy, Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics, Bert w. Wasserman Department of Economics and Finance, Department of Law, Allen G. Aaronson Department of Marketing and International Business, and William Newman Department of Real Estate, which can facilitate extensive teaching and research collaborations across disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a PhD in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a related discipline. ABDs who have defended the dissertation prior to the start of employment may also be considered (degree conferral is required for professorial ranks).

Preferred qualifications include a strong background in research methods and data analytics. The successful candidate would be expected to demonstrate a strong research agenda and the ability to teach human resource management courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates with an interest in developing and teaching courses relating to HR metrics and talent analytics are particularly encouraged to apply.
