The Operations Management Group, within the Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management at the Zicklin School of Business, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Operations Management starting August 2020. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven research record and teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels. Desirable are research and teaching interests in all areas related to Operations Management and Business Analytics.

Baruch College is located in Manhattan's historic Gramercy/Flatiron district between Midtown and Wall Street and offers significant professional opportunities to interact with operations and supply chain professionals in the retail, financial services, transportation, healthcare, and government sectors. The Zicklin School of Business is New York City's premier public business school with an international reputation for excellence in offering nationally-ranked business degrees including BBA and MBA programs, specialized masters, and doctoral programs. The department offers a BBA major in Management with a concentration in Operations Management.

Compensation and teaching loads will be competitive and commensurate with rank.


Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Operations Management, Operations Research, Management Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field. ABD may also be considered.

The successful candidate is expected to pursue and promote a rigorous research agenda in operations and/or business analytics; mentor and guide the intellectual development of junior faculty and doctoral students; and build and expand the department's growing focus in operations and business analytics by developing MBA and undergraduate programs/concentrations in operations and business analytics. Candidates should also be prepared to teach core service operations management courses within the MBA and BBA programs, as well as courses in the Operations Management major with particular emphasis on business analytics. Both analytical and empirical research orientations will be considered.

After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365 day period. If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
