The Department of Natural Sciences at Baruch College, City University of New York, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Chemistry, starting September 1, 2020. The candidate is expected to establish an externally funded research program that will complement the collaborative, interdisciplinary environment at Baruch College. The candidate should have experience in Computational Chemistry as applied to Materials Science and/or Bio-inorganic Chemistry. Teaching responsibilities will include General Chemistry, and other chemistry courses for majors and non-majors.

Baruch College is a senior institution in the City University of New York system. It is located in the historic Gramercy Park/Flatiron district of Manhattan and has the most diverse student population of any college in the nation.


Ph.D. degree in Materials Science or Bio-inorganic Chemistry, or a closely related field is required by September 1, 2020 when the appointment begins. Promise of teaching excellence and a commitment to mentoring undergraduate researchers are essential. Candidates should have teaching experience and peer-reviewed publications in their field.
