CUNY Associate Director of Admissions, Operations and Processing in New York, New York

POSITION DETAILS

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Admissions. This position manages the processing of undergraduate applications and supporting documents including data upload, verification, document scanning, letter generation, transfer credit evaluation, and document archiving. This position will provide technical expertise and support in maintaining and improving processes with the student information system and key ancillary support systems.

  • Administers procedures and policies related to undergraduate admissions and recommends changes.

  • Conducts evaluation of lower rank of professional staff, clerical and support staff.

  • Coordinates with key stakeholders and other Enrollment Management Services teams the seamless transition of data.

  • Ensures compliance with College’s admissions policies by supervising a team of admission evaluators trained to review and validate the academic credentials of applicants, determine course equivalencies, and render admissions decisions.

  • Leads new technology implementations, maintenance and enhancements of imaging system, admissions applications, prospective student forms, CRM systems and software.

  • Manages the generation of reports and other data or reports upon request.

  • Monitors business practices and customer service standards.

  • Oversees data management processes and reporting.

  • Verifies the accuracy of data/reports prior to dissemination.

  • Evening and/or weekend hours may be necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

  • Experience with Hobsons Connect or other computer-based CRM systems and a commitment to use of technology and analytics in admissions operations and strategies.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft.

  • Competency in the use of query tools and software utilized to collect and process applicant data is required.

  • Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and time management skills.

  • A proven track record of success in admissions and progressively responsible experience in the administration of an admissions office.

  • Demonstrated success in managing a diverse group of professionals with varying levels of experience and facilitating organizational development and change.

  • Competency for analyzing application-related data and assessing programming activities as part of a strategic enrollment planning initiative.

  • An understanding of innovative uses of technology in admissions work flow processes.

  • Experience working with diverse populations.

  • Experience maintaining and tracking student records.

  • Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying academic rules, policies and procedures, while utilizing sound professional judgement in decision making.
