POSITION DETAILS

Baruch College is looking for a committed, creative individual to serve as the Associate Director of Student Life. The position is located in the Office of Student Life and reports to the Director of Student Life. The Office of Student Life strives to provide educational co-curricular programs and learning opportunities for Baruch College students. The Associate Director will provide Baruch College students with a full complement of leadership and engagement opportunities.

The Associate Director will:

  • Supervise the Student Activity team responsible for the day-to-day advisement of Baruch student activities, clubs and organizations and preside over evening and weekend events as necessary.

  • Oversee planning and implementation of all on-and-off campus events for student clubs and organization.

  • Advise the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and the Graduate Student Assembly (GSA).

  • Manage online organization management system for all registered clubs and organizations and conduct frequent evaluation of program effectiveness through various assessment tools.

  • Work closely with other Student Life operations staff to provide support and guidance to student organizations and student leaders.

  • Lead all large-scale event programming including but not limited to Club Fairs, Spring Fling, Winter Carnival, Homecoming, etc. and participate in the planning of College-wide events such as Commencement

  • Oversee collaboration with clubs, organizations and academic departments to provide a rich array of heritage and cultural month events such as Latinx Heritage, Black History, LGBTQ Awareness, Women’s History, Asian Pacific Heritage months and Caribbean Week.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, managerial and administrative skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced complex environment

  • Experience training and/or teaching in a College setting

  • Familiarity with best practices and assessment in the field with an understanding of the role of student development in academic success

  • Evaluates student needs and trends to develop a range of student services

  • Manages staff, fiscal resources, and facilities supporting student affairs activities
