Reporting to the Associate Director of Transfer Programs, the CUNY Justice Academy Transfer Programs Specialist collaborates with community college and John Jay College partner offices to implement programming that supports the successful transfer and transition of CUNY Justice Academy (CJA) students to John Jay College and promotes their academic engagement.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the responsibilities of the CUNY Justice Academy Transfer Programs Specialist include:
Manage communication and outreach to CJA and Transfer students as they transition to John Jay College.
Track students’ progress through the transfer process. Update partner offices on students’ status as appropriate.
Act as a resource and disseminate information on relevant policies to faculty and staff supporting CJA students.
Prepare weekly updates on student engagement and intake processes.
Assist in planning and implementing student engagement events at John Jay College and community college partner campuses.
Update CJA and Transfer websites and provide content for social media.
Conduct student success workshops for program participants.
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.
The successful candidate will be a team player with experience in student outreach and program support.
Familiarity with email and survey tools and database querying, and solid knowledge of MS Excel are preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Participates in the daily coordination of academic and administrative activities of a College's specialized academic program under management direction.
Supports program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
Recommends, implements and evaluates strategies to expand program offerings
Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
Develops and maintains relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services
Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures
Oversees office recordkeeping; manages updates of program web and print materials
May supervise office operations and/or department budget
Performs related duties as assigned.

$47,340 - $58,555.
