CUNY’s Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) assists students in earning associate’s degrees within three years by providing a range of financial, academic, and personal supports, including comprehensive and personalized advisement, career counseling, tutoring, waivers for tuition and mandatory fees, MTA MetroCards, and additional financial assistance to defray the costs of textbooks. The program, housed in the Office of Academic Affairs and located in downtown Brooklyn, is seeking a Digital Media Coordinator to expand the social media presence of CUNY ASAP across critical platforms. The coordinator will support the design and implementation of social media and digital media strategies, including developing a digital content calendar, scheduling daily posts, and digital support for breaking news. The position reports to the ASAP Director for External Relations and Engagement. Other essential duties include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Monitoring social media outlets in real-time, keeping the team informed of critical information, and serving as webmaster for the CUNY ASAP Central website.

  • Drafting, managing, and executing posts against a content calendar for primary CUNY ASAP social media accounts and providing digital support for breaking news and special events.

  • Aggregating content and collaborating on the digital content calendar.

  • Drafting content for use in e-communications, being mindful of audience and goals.

  • Supporting long-term digital campaigns, metrics, and analytics of CUNY ASAP digital campaigns and outlets.

  • Liaising with ASAP social media points of contact across each ASAP campus to provide support.

-Coordinating efforts with the university marketing team, digital media council, and ASAP program teams to ensure messaging alignment.

-Creating, placing, and managing social media advertising.



Bachelor’s degree required.


  • Two years' experience in digital marketing or student engagement.

  • Experience using digital tools like Hootsuite, Slack, and Buffer, plus the ability to pull native metrics.

  • Familiarity with HTML, customer relationship management software, project management tools like Monday, Basecamp, and DropBox.

  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills to devise and execute work plans, prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

  • Proactive, flexible, and customer-focused with the ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member in a fast-paced work environment with diverse members of the university community and external constituents.

  • Computer proficiency using administrative, financial, or academic systems.


Coordinates the design and production of publications, written materials, and multi-media communications.

  • Organizes publications and communications projects from inception through final stage in a variety of media

  • Prepares materials and creates graphic designs utilizing logos, templates and other graphic elements

  • Applies College-wide graphic and technical standards to insure quality and consistency of College identity

  • Assists in coordinating production in a variety of media and formats, both print and on-line

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after July 1, 2019

City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after July 1, 2019 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.

After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period. If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.

Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period.

An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to EmblemHealth. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted. The HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form and HIP service area are available on the EmblemHealth website.
