CUNY Director (Lecturer) - Business Communication in New York, New York
FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Marketing and International Business in the Zicklin School of Business, the Lecturer will serve as Director of the Office of Business Communication and be responsible for managing the Business Communication curriculum for MBA and MS students. This includes: (1) developing the courses and day-to-day management of the courses; (2) hiring and scheduling instructors; and (3) coordinating with the Office of Graduate Programs.
Develops topical content for required Business Communication courses; manages the scheduling of courses, hiring of instructors, and administration of academic year requirements to meet the School's goals and objectives.
Teaches multiple courses and assists in developing new curricula. Works with the Zicklin School's Office of Assessment, Accreditation and Program Learning to perform assessments and track student and instructor performance in order to make periodic changes.
Supports strategic planning activities; assesses outcomes and makes recommendations regarding resource allocations.
Develops the Office of Business Communication budget and monitors personnel expenditures.
Hires, supervises, and trains instructors and clerical staff.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Evening and some weekend hours may be required.
Master's degree and three years related experience in academic or corporate business communication required.
Ph.D. or equivalent in related field desirable as well as teaching experience in business communication at the college or university level. Attention to detail and solid written and oral communication skills are required. Computer skills and knowledge of the influence of technology on business communications are desirable. Excellent interpersonal skills to work with students, staff and faculty also required.
