The CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU) offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Labor Studies and Urban and Community Studies that are designed to meet the needs of working adults as well as traditional-age college students who seek to learn more about the challenges confronting poor and working-class populations in the workplace and in the community. Additionally, SLU collaborates with other units of CUNY to offer a broad range of college-credit programs designed to give workers the academic and technical skills needed for professional advancement. Its faculty includes distinguished scholars in the social sciences as well as expert practitioners in government, labor, and public service.

As a pivotal member of the enrollment division, the Enrollment Services Coordinator provides key administrative support under the direction of the Enrollment Director and the Registrar. In this front-facing and student-focused role, this individual is responsible for providing appropriate information to current and prospective students, processing undergraduate and graduate admissions applications, data entry and coordinating communications into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, and assisting in the foundation of SLU’s Connect Services One Stop.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide routine and ad hoc information and support to current and prospective students, as well as SLU faculty and staff.

  • Liaise between the offices of Enrollment Management, Bursar, Registrar, and Academic Affairs.

  • Assist with streamlining internal admissions operations, including creating and maintaining various databases and data collection methods.

  • Assist with compliance, data entry, and maintaining and archiving student records.


Bachelor's Degree required.


  • Knowledge of CUNYFirst (CUNY’s PeopleSoft based Enterprise Resource Planning system) or other student information system (Ellucian, Salesforce, etc.).

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to a changing work environment.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Prior experience with CRM systems.

  • Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed.


Supports student enrollment activities and processing.

  • Provides direct student services and works collaboratively with other units to support registration, payment, and related activities

  • Conducts workshops on enrollment management services and processes

  • Counsels students, staff and faculty on academic registration, admissions, testing, and related processing

  • Manages student information databases and resolves issues with student records and transactions

  • Ensures compliance with college, Federal, and New York State regulations and policies

  • Creates and updates content for web pages, bulletins, and other media to ensure effective communications to students and campus community

  • May supervise clerical and/or part-time staff and coordinate work schedules

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after July 1, 2019

City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after July 1, 2019 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.

After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIPHMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period. If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.

Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period.

An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to EmblemHealth. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted. The HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form and HIP service area are available on the EmblemHealth website.
