FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Urban Policy and Planning Department (UPP) at Hunter College is holding an open rank search for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor who will enhance the department’s research and teaching capacity in urban planning. We are particularly interested in candidates who specialize in physical planning (e.g., land use and zoning, transportation, urban design, etc.); however, we will consider applications from scholars conducting research in other urban planning-related areas. Strong candidates will have a research agenda that addresses questions of public participation, community engagement, and social justice and equity. UPP is an interdisciplinary department with two graduate programs (Master of Urban Planning [MUP], MS in Urban Policy and Leadership), and an undergraduate Urban Studies program. Hunter College enrolls over 23,000 students and has one of the most diverse student bodies in the United States. The successful candidate will be expected to teach core required courses, as well as courses in their substantive area of expertise.
