FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Sociology of Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY) seeks to fill one open rank Professor position beginning in September 2022 with a sociologist who has a demonstrated expertise in the areas of race, immigration, and inequality, ideally with a focus on the New York City area and the African-American and Latinx communities. Additional strengths in digital sociology and teaching undergraduate methods is a plus. We are located in New York City, and offer a liberal arts major as well as a master’s program to a large, diverse and vibrant student body. Hunter College is one of the eleven senior colleges of the City University of New York with close to 20,000 students and the Department has over 650 majors.
For Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor:
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
