The Finance and Business Affairs Director reports to the Vice President for Finance and Budget and supervises staff in relation to financial reporting and compliance. The responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the accounting and reporting of the College’s various sources of tuition and fee revenue and student financial aid revenue

  • Jointly plan and execute with Budget Office counterparts the preparation of the annual tuition revenue projections

  • Manageannual dormitory revenue projects and tracks payment throughout the year

  • Monitors cash flow for all bank accounts and weekly preparation of reports for management

  • Develops and maintains annual UBIT (Unrelated Business Income Tax) report for CUNY

  • Lead and manage teams responsible with the preparation of the financial statements,including separately incorporated entities:Children’s Learning Center, The College Association and the Hunter College Auxiliary Enterprises Corp; engage with finance teams to prepare other ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by management.

  • In collaboration with the Internal Control Officer, determine process implementation requirement for addressing audits and self-assessments.

  • Assiststhe Vice President for Finance and Budget with initiatives and special projects as assigned.


Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.

Vaccine Requirement:

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Directs financial and administrative operations of a College or major program.

  • Oversees financial resources in a fiscally responsible manner and complies with various legal regulations and University policies

  • Develops financial forecasting models to support strategic planning aligned with goals and initiatives

  • Recommends and implements strategic college-wide policies to ensure financial compliance is maintained

  • Oversees business analyses, budget projections, allocations, financial statements, and statistical reports

  • Develops and manages relationships in regard to fiduciary responsibilities with external institutions, including government agencies, corporations, and funding entities

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
