Reporting to the Finance Budget Manager, the Finance Budget Coordinator’s responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing expenditures for the Colleges. In addition to the overview duties listed below, tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the planning, development, and management of the annual budget, budget processes and financial planning activities; compiling and reconciling monthly budget reports using various systems.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed information, logs, files and reports of all budget related activities in accordance with University, City and State regulations.

  • Supports department with budget administration to meet department goals and objectives.

  • Verify and correct information in CUNYFirst Position Management and Department Budget Table.

  • Maintain college assistant budget and prepare monthly reports and projections based on expenditures.

  • Maintain OTPS budget and process transfer requests from departments.

  • Monitor requisitions for budget errors and transfer funds.

  • Assist with Billing and Accounts Receivable for Non-Tax Levy.

  • Review space rental invoices for internal control purposes and coordinate with event managers for additional information.

  • Prepare invoices for ROAs and assist in ROA reconciliation process; Invoice intra-city agencies.

  • Contributes to a work environment that fosters teamwork and cooperation within the department, which continuously improve the performance of our department.


Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics and one (1) year of experience in budget finance, accounting, or related quantitative area

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including: Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Exceptional customer services abilities and strong attention to detail.

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.


Administers program and unit budgets and related functions.

  • Processes and maintains data in budget systems

  • Prepares budgets, projections and financial reports

  • Collects and reports fiscal information as required, and assists in analyzing financial information

  • Coordinates with various departments on budget and accounting matters

  • Monitors systems and operational issues to improve overall workflows

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
