GENERAL DUTIES
Collaborates with school administrators, counselors, and faculty to offer accommodations and special education services at Hunter College Campus Schools.
-Develops special education/504 plans for students to provide special education and academic support services. Working with teachers, students and parents, obtains relevant information and documents on academic, emotional, physical and other issues which necessitate interventions, convenes meetings with involved persons, creates the 504 plan, and assures all involved understand the plan.
-Works directly with individuals and small groups of students who have 504 plans or IEP's or who need modifications, accommodations, or individual academic interventions.
-Follows up with teachers and staff to ensure compliance in accordance with Hunter Campus Schools' policy and guidelines and any related laws and regulations; tracks success of accommodations and makes adjustments as needed.
-Offers additional student and teacher assistance to address students' learning differences.
-Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required with knowledge of and experience with the landscape of disabilities that typically exist within an academically gifted population, and knowledge of successful intervention strategies for a wide range of disabilities. A Master's degree and certification as a Special Education Teacher in New York State preferred and required within the first four years of employment.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
VACCINE REQUIREMENT
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
COMPENSATION
Hunter College Campus Schools follow the salary guidelines of the New York City Department of Education. Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience ($61,070 - $128,657).
