I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group.
I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

IT Senior Associate
CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS) at the City University of New York (CUNY) support the IT and telecommunications needs of CUNY's 24 colleges. CIS supports enterprise IT and applications; develops new technologies that advance University's core mission; builds, upgrades and maintains the University's network; operates the University's Data Center and help desk; develops disaster recovery and business continuity plans; and leads the CUNYfirst Enterprise Resource Planning Project (ERP), which integrates 25 university systems, covering student administration, financial management, and human resources.
Reporting to the Interim Director of Identity & Access Management, the Lead Cloud Messaging Engineer will serve as a technical resource that will provide enterprise cloud-based email and collaboration management and resolution to users University-wide to include students, faculty and staff.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Primary manager and engineer for the CIS Hosted Microsoft Office 365 for Education Collaboration Suite
Participates in the design, planning, implementation, securing, and operation of the Microsoft Azure and Office 365 cloud technology solutions
Interfaces with multiple CIS teams (e.g. IMS, Systems, etc.) and vendors, to perform complex incident triage in the hybrid Office 365 stack
Serves as a next-tier escalation point for Staff, Faculty, Student, and Retiree Office 365 issues, for the various University college entities
Provides Office 365 and Azure mentorship to college IT administrators and internal CIS staff
Consults with business process owners, executive staff, and end users, to ensure productive and consistent application lifecycle enhancement and adjustments
Performs the creation and maintenance of MS Office 365 cloud specific Standard Operating Procedures, baseline build guides, runbooks, infrastructure diagrams, and process automation scripts
Responds to confidential litigation, eDiscovery, FOIL requests, and content investigations as directed by authorized University entities
Serves as a knowledge and consulting escalation resource, for other CIS Collaboration Team tiers
Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
Demonstrated English Language proficiency
A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
Proficiency with Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, AAD Synchronization, Single Sign On, MFA, Conditional Access
Experience with Microsoft Exchange Online and Exchange Online Protection
Experience with Microsoft lntune design, implementation, management, and support
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Online management and support
Experience with Microsoft OneDrive for Business management and Support
Experience with Microsoft Teams management and support
Strong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell or other tools
Good understanding of industry standard Identity Management concepts
Working knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Strong mentoring, documentation, and knowledge sharing skills
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, working with diverse teams spanning across multiple email environments
Self-managed and motivated individual with strong leadership skill

IMPORTANT BENEFITS NOTICE:
Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after July 1, 2019 City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after July 1, 2019 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.
After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period. If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period.
An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to EmblemHealth. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted. The HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form and HIP service area are available on the EmblemHealth website.
