The LEAP team will create a range of programming to increase visibility and value for academically-engaged experiential learning, while also tracking and measuring retention, momentum, and student engagement in all their variety.

Reporting to the Senior Director of the Academic Advisement Center (AAC), and collaborating with John Jay College partner offices, particularly the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD), the LEAP Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, support and assessment of interventions that impact the engagement, retention, and degree completion of non-cohort freshmen students.

  • Collaborate with appropriate campus colleagues to identify and integrate use of various digital resources into the student experience to design, facilitate, document, and assess students’ experiential learning;

  • Maintain on-going contact with internal and external partners who provide experiential learning opportunities to students;

  • Collaborate with student success colleagues across the College to create scaffolded opportunities that prepare students to be successful in experiential learning opportunities and programs;

  • Facilitate activities between major coordinators, career and academic advisors to create integrated major and career maps;

  • Collaborate with the Teaching & Learning Center to plan regular development opportunities for individual faculty members, departments, staff, and offices engaged in designing experiential learning opportunities, including but not limited to internship courses.
