FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Hunter College is seeking to appoint an outstanding educator specializing in the field of Public Health. The position is for a Lecturer (Doctoral). Duties involve teaching courses and mentoring and advising students in areas pertaining to public and community health, health information, social influences on health and medical care, and community health activism. The Lecturer will be part of Hunter College’s decades-long tradition in Public Health education and training and may participate in outreach work focusing on New York City’s communities. The successful candidate will participate in committee and program assignments, including administrative and other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. degreein area(s)of experience or equivalentrequired for Doctoral Lecturer.Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarshiporachievement,and ability to cooperate withothers for thegoodof this institution. Applicants must also have a commitment to work in multicultural and urban education settings.

Published peer-reviewed scholarship, policy achievement, or public health/grant program management, and a demonstrated record of ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution are pluses. Demonstrated ability to teach courses on research methods and/or grant writing is also a plus.

Vaccine Requirement:

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.

COMPENSATION

Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience within the range of title/s ( Doc. Lect .:$54,177- $87,223)
