FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology (Hunter College/CUNY) seeks candidates for a full-time, non-tenure one year position in Speech/Language Pathology at the level of Lecturer, available for the Fall, 2023 semester. The successful candidate will have responsibilities including teaching graduate clinical coursework, clinical education working in the department’s Speech and Hearing Center performing student supervision, providing direct clinical service and, advisement. The successful candidate will be expected to become an active member of the faculty by participating in various academic and administrative activities such as department faculty meetings and department committee work. Currently, the department has six full-time academic faculty members and adjunct faculty who support academic and clinical education. The department admits approximately 30, full-time graduate students annually to its step-locked 68 credit master’s degree curriculum. The department is housed in the School of the Health Professions at the Hunter College Brookdale campus on East 25 th Street in Manhattan. The department culture is one of transparency, offering a warm collegial environment, and, provides extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration in four other schools of the college: School of Nursing, School of Education, School of Arts and Sciences, and School of Social Work. QUALIFICATIONS
All Lecturer positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Additional qualifications are defined below by the College.
Required: (a) minimum of two years of college teaching experience; (b) minimum of two years graduate clinical education in speech language pathology; (c) earned Master degree in speech language pathology/communication disorders; (d) hold valid New York State license in speech language pathology, and, maintain American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in speech language pathology; (e) demonstrate leadership and involvement in committee work in the field of speech language pathology and audiology.
VACCINE REQUIREMENT
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
COMPENSATION
Salary commensurate with education and experience ($52,072 - $87,004).
