CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Office of Special Programs (OSP) provides the vision, leadership, and fiscal oversight of CUNY’s Seventeen (17) opportunity programs (College Discovery (CD) and the Percy Ellis Sutton Search for Education, Elevation, and Knowledge (SEEK)). OSP implements established priorities, policies, and initiatives that encourage and support the inclusion and educational success of students who are provided access to higher education through CD and SEEK, and support through other initiatives managed by OSP.
The Student Admissions and Recruiting Specialist will assist with ensuring that programs in the Office of Special Programs achieve their ambitious enrollment targets. In collaboration with internal and external constituents, the Specialist will develop recruitment plans and coordinate events (open houses, information sessions, fairs and discussion groups) for prospective students, counselors and other college access professionals. The Specialist also serves as a key liaison to NYC Department of Education and other pipeline programs, providing information central to increasing and improving the awareness and understanding of the opportunities available for students to access CUNY through CD, SEEK and the Foster Youth College Success Initiative.
Key responsibilities include, but are not be limited to:
Manage College Discovery, SEEK and Foster Youth recruitment and outreach activities with internal and external constituents, including the New York City Department of Education’s counselors and other college access advisors.
Collect and analyze data to inform strategic recruitment initiatives.
Participate in CUNY information fairs throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Assist with the development and execution of recruitment communication plans, including web and print.
Represent the OSP programs at college nights, community fairs, education fairs, and other related events.
Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
COMPENSATION
NTA level 1: up to $50.52 per hour at no more than 15 hours per week, at a maximum of 225 hours for Spring 2021 semester.
