Reporting to the General Manager, the Audience Services Specialist of the Gerald W. Lynch Theater is responsible for the full spectrum of front of house services for all events, meeting high standards of delivery and customer service in a fast-paced environment with a staff of 30 ushers. Located in the heart of New York’s theater district, the GWLT hosts 250+ days of international and local performing arts, corporate, non-profit and governmental organizations as well as high- profile John Jay College events. The activities of the GWLT are revenue-generating and have the potential to greatly impact academic departments across the college. In addition to the CUNY description above:
Self-directed design of internal event plans to safety and effectively usher audiences through shared entrances and spaces without disrupting college activities.
Understand and implement College and Management goals.
Be present at client site visits and events to execute client goals, event logistics including overseeing concessionaries, custodial, covid screenings, ADA compliance, fire safety.
Execute all stages of usher recruiting, onboarding, training, and management, including biweekly payroll.
Establish and maintain a safe and harmonious work environment for colleagues and staff.
Develop and distribute campus wide marketing campaigns.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and working condition of front of house equipment, place work orders.
Prepare reports as requested.
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to their campus.
Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
Four years’ experience in front of house services in a management capacity
Excellent personal presentation and professionalism maintaining poise in challenging situations
Strong self-directed work ethic and leadership skills. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of MS Office suite, photoshop, powerpoint, and scheduling apps
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Administers performing arts center programs, as well as productions in other College venues throughout the year.
Assists management in program planning and goal-setting
Participates in building relationships between the center and external community and arts organizations
Collaborates with College academic and administrative departments to assure successful programs
Trains and supervise center staff
Assists with routine administration such as booking, scheduling, and maintenance of systems and equipment
Plans, prepares, and implements center-wide marketing plans
Coordinates efforts with technical personnel on designing and building of productions
Performs related duties as assigned. .

$52,267 - $62,411.
