CUNY Professional Training Specialist - Campus Engagement Programs in New York, New York

Campus Engagement Programs is the team that works to strengthen the middle school to college pipeline by offering comprehensive advisement and college readiness support to middle school, high school and first year college students. The Professional Training Specialist works under the auspices of Campus Engagement Programs and will be tasked with the design and implementation of a leadership/workforce development program for college student visit guides and ongoing professional development for the campus coordinators. The leadership curriculum will focus on habits, attitudes and skills necessary to achieving long-term college and career success.
Working collaboratively with the CUNY Explorers Program, the Professional Training Specialist will:
Design a leadership/professional development training program for Explorers visit guides to help train staff to implement workshops.
Assist with management of the training series for the visit guides, from assessment through implementation to evaluation.
Partner with constituents to design and facilitate staff trainings, orientations, and monthly meetings.
Lead the evaluation plan for the Explorers program and liaise with the Research, Evaluation, and Program Support team; assist with program evaluation and assessment to gauge quality and effectiveness.
Liaise with key staff at the NYCDOE and CUNY campuses to support program management.
Conduct routine and ad hoc administrative tasks connected to program longevity and success.
Travel to partner campuses as needed.
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required. Other Qualifications:
Well-developed knowledge of the NYCDOE and/or CUNY; experience with education policy issues, especially those related to college and career readiness, access and equity issues.
Previous related experience in public K-12 and/or higher education or non-profit field.
Experience with workshop facilitation and development, program coordination, curriculum development and/or instructional design.
Ability to travel to multiple sites throughout NYC.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and internet research.
Experience designing and managing research and/or program evaluation and using data to inform future work.
Excellent communication skills, especially in writing and public speaking.
Experience with negotiation, group facilitation and conflict mediation.

Supports program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
Recommends, implements and evaluates strategies to expand program offerings
Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
Develops and maintains relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services
Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures
Oversees office recordkeeping; manages updates of program web and print materials
May supervise office operations and/or department budget
