POSITION DETAILS

Reporting to the ASAP Executive Director, the position is responsible for the planning, execution and oversight of all retention and academic support initiatives, data analysis/data-informed initiatives, and key program administrative supervision areas for ASAP.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the ASAP Associate Director for Data Management and Program Strategy at Queensborough Community College will:

  • Collaborate with Executive Director and Associate Directors to strategize and define annual objectives including; retention, learning outcomes, evaluations, and recruitment target audiences

  • Support both recruitment and retention efforts working closely with the ASAP Associate Directors

  • Manage a cohort of ASAP students, maintain student master files

  • Oversee summer and winter session registrations, collaborating with necessary College representatives

  • Manage and organize MetroCard and textbook distributions

  • Conduct data assessment and analysis of retention, completion, engagement, recruitment and program performance

  • Represent the program in the ASAP central Tech Council and other centrally led initiatives as the main point of contact

  • Manage all data entries in the various ASAP data systems (i.e., ASAPi, Starfish) for accuracy and timeliness

  • Oversee ongoing data training and professional development for ASAP staff

  • Assist the ASAP Executive Director with all required program data reporting and collaboration with the offices of Institutional Research and IT units;

  • Supervise the Engagement Team to develop academic programming for both engagement and retention

  • Participate in the daily coordination of academic and administrative activities of a college’s specialized academic program under management’s direction

  • Support program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation, student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.

  • Recommend, implement and evaluate strategies to improve program recruitment, engagement and retention

  • Prepare analytical and statistical reports for management, including monthly data reports for ASAP staff used to collaboratively develop action plans and next steps based on the data

  • Serve as resource expert regarding program data (ex: recruitment, retention, and engagement); maintain monthly/semester data summary reports for Director

  • Oversee professional staff, such as Career Specialist and Program Coordinators

  • Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in an appropriate discipline and six years related experience.

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Ability to understand and communicate research innovation, methodology and terminology.

  • Strong background in applied data analysis and research.

  • Strong understanding of the needs of community college students.

  • Experience effectively managing and leading student engagement/retention teams.

  • Working knowledge of Budgets.

  • Experience with data management systems such as Starfish, tableau, Qualitrics, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to work wellwith faculty, administrators, students, and external stakeholders.

  • Strong organization, project management, and facilitation skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft suite, and aptitude to learn new systems as needed.

  • Experience designing and implementing academic support programs.

  • Knowledge and understanding of strategies important to student success.

  • Experience in project management.

  • Detailed oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) helps students earn their college degree as quickly as possible, by removing the financial, academic, and personal obstacles that many students confront. Key ASAP program features include a consolidated block schedule, cohorts by major, required full-time study and comprehensive advisement and career development services. Reporting to the ASAP Director, the ASAP Manager is responsible for the daily administration of ASAP program activities.

  • Establishes semester block programs and manages and schedules all other academic support activities such as tutoring and workshops

  • Supervises planning and implementation of ASAP summer programming, including summer course taking, workshops, and the ASAP summer institute, and other special student activities

  • Assists Financial Aid, Registrar, and Bursar in evaluating student eligibility, finalizing registration, and verifying tuition charges

  • Assists the ASAP Director with required reporting and collaboration with other college units

  • Monitors and assesses data reports on a regular basis to ensure movement towards ASAP success benchmarks and to determine student support needs

  • Oversees advisement and delivery of comprehensive support services to ASAP students

  • Supervises professional and support staff

  • Performs related duties as assigned
