Reporting to the Manager of the Campus Writing Center, the Academic Resource Center Coordinator will provide supervision for this support services unit. In addition, the Academic Resource Center Coordinator will support the mission and operations of the center and the Director, performing duties including the following:

  • Provides support to ensure high quality of daily service operations and completion of required administrative tasks within the center;

  • Supervises hiring and training of part-time administrative staff;

  • Assists in the maintenance of consultant and part-time administrative schedules;

  • Assists in coordination of departmental events including specialized workshops, extended tutoring hours, staff trainings and orientations, etc.;

  • Ensures data accuracy of software tracking student use of CWC services and staff schedules;

  • Coordinates, in conjunction with CWC Manager, CWC’s consultant training program (i.e. certification);

  • Directs student and consultant traffic throughout the day including session seating and situation assessment;

  • Trouble shoots and problem solves on-the-floor staff and student concerns;

  • Designates consultants to respond to and complete review of online submissions via CWC platform (TigerWrite);

  • Registers students in specialized CWC services and programs;

  • Consults with CWC Director and Manager to identify and implement improvements to departmental policies and operational procedures;

  • Supports the updating and maintenance of website content as needed;

  • Acts as a liaison with internal departments to procure supplies or receive services;

  • Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience working in a high-volume college learning center that focuses on writing skills

  • Excellent organization and communication skills

  • Experience using database management and scheduling software

  • Experience managing several tasks simultaneously, exhibiting independent initiative and good judgement


Provides operational and analytical support for a learning resource center.

  • Assists in providing academic resources such as tutoring, remedial and/or other targeted student support services

  • Maintains center records including student files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on center activities

  • Assists with the planning, scheduling and execution of training programs, lectures, workshops, meetings and special events

  • Acts as a liaison to various College offices to ensure smooth operations and quality service

  • Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding center policies and procedures; conducts basic research as assigned.

  • May schedule individual and group sessions for students

  • May supervise part-time and/or clerical staff; may monitor department budget

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
