FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Computer Science at Queens College in the City University of New York invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions, with appointment to begin in Fall 2019. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, and establishing a record of research and scholarship as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, grant applications and funded research. Shared responsibility exists for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

The Computer Science Department serves over 1600 undergraduate majors and 100 master's degree students, and participates actively in the Computer Science Ph.D. program based at the CUNY Graduate Center.

Ph.D. degree by June 2019 in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related discipline (in this case an undergraduate degree in computer science is required). Also required are the ability to teach successfully and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. A demonstrated level of expertise and research excellence is required.
The successful candidates must have a demonstrated level of expertise and research excellence in one or more areas of computer science, preferably in computational data science (including algorithms, artificial intelligence/machine learning, natural language processing, and visualization), software engineering, and hardware/software systems (including high-performance and distributed computing).
