Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible, but not limited to, the following:
Teach courses in all subject areas within the Nutrition and Culinary Management Programs with both, the Nutrition, and Culinary management tracks;
Evaluate and initiate changes in the curricula to comply with certifications and food and nutrition industry trends;
Conduct scholarly activity and disseminate results to academic and professional audiences;
Participate in the coordination and implementation of campus-wide Nutrition and Culinary Management Program activities;
Coordinate and implement recruitment efforts to support the growth of the Nutrition and Culinary Management Program;
Assist in the development of the internship component of the Nutrition and Culinary Management Program;
Provide academic advisement for students in the Nutrition and Culinary Management Program.
Master's degree in Food and Nutrition and current or eligible for NYS Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist credential by start date; a minimum of 2 years of culinary management or food-service management experience.
Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Experience with culinary/food-service management and nutrition programs.
Classroom teaching experience at the college or university level.
Ability to teach culinary/food-service management courses.
Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Demonstrated scholarship in the area of food, nutrition and culinary/food-service management.
Ability to contribute to foster inclusivity among diverse faculty, staff, and student populations preferred.
