Manages the fieldwork component of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program (OTA) in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. The Assistant Professor will oversee, monitor, track and develop student fieldwork placements, collect and maintain student and agency fieldwork data, maintain partnerships with agencies, and conduct agency site visits. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for maintaining standards as set by accrediting bodies and share responsibility for leading fieldwork orientations and meetings for students and agency supervisors as required.

Performs teaching, research, and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions. Supports departmental divisional and college initiatives. Engages in academic advisement of pre-clinical and clinical students and contributes to student, lab technician, and adjunct mentoring. Participates in professional development, curriculum development, and scholarly activities.


Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy required. Licensure (New York State or eligible) to practice Occupational Therapy. Three to five years of clinical experience in occupational therapy is required. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
