The Department of Family, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences at Queens College-CUNY invites applications for a tenure-track position for an Assistant Professor in Physical Education, starting in Fall 2022. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physical education includingphysical education pedagogy, elementary and secondary methods, supervise student teachers, advise students, establish a research program in physical education pedagogy, wellness, physical activity, or a related fieldas evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, funded research and/or successful grant applications preferred. Service on professional, department, and/or college-wide committees is required.

Earned terminal degree in Physical Education or a related area. Candidates, completing a doctoral degree by time of appointment will receive consideration.Experience in the following areas is recommended: teacher certification, college teaching experience in pedagogy and method courses, P-12 teaching experience, integration of technology, supervision of student teaching, as well as knowledge of accreditation in educational programs. Continuous record of scholarship as evidenced by peer-reviewed publication and/or funded research and experience in college teaching and post-doctoral research is preferred.
