Unique to our APA-accredited Clinical Psychology doctoral program is the complementary training in the principles of modern neuropsychology and neuroscience. Students engage in rigorous scientific research and intensive clinical training in the program’s own community-based training clinic that serves Queens’ very diverse population. The program is committed to the integration of science and practice, and shares the Queens College mission of “We Learn So That We May Serve.” The program strives to advance principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the program, in the community, and in the field of psychology. Candidate will join a rich, collegial, collaborative environment with other clinicians and scientists.

Applicants should be health service psychologists with expertise in evidence-based psychological intervention, and/or psychological/neuropsychological assessment. As core faculty members of our program, they should expect to be committed to the Department’s PhD Program in Clinical Psychology and to play a prominent role in:

· Clinical training and supervision at the program’s training clinic, the Queens College Psychological Center. They will engage in ongoing development and evaluation of students’ clinical competencies, and contribute to programming and development of the clinic’s community mental health services as per its social justice mission.

We seek candidates who demonstrate expertise and have experience in mental health, and diverse student and client populations. Further we seek an individual who understands disparities and barriers faced by minoritized communities in mental health, and has a strong commitment to community engagement, and the education and training of health service psychologists. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate excellence in clinical supervision and training, teaching, community engagement, and mentorship, whilst fostering a community that both values and promotes the varied voices of our clients, students, faculty, and staff.

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

· Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (or closely related field).

· Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the State of NY. (If license-eligible must commit to receiving the license within the first year of employment.)

· APA- or CPA- accredited doctoral program and doctoral internship.

· APA- or CPA- accredited postdoctoral training.

· Applied experience in psychological services with a diverse range of clients across the lifespan or specialized populations, and competence in responding to serious clinical issues welcome.

· Applied experience in education, supervision, and training of students in the mental health professions (especially health service psychology doctoral students.) Our program values a wide range of methods and approaches to assessment and intervention. We seek a commitment to high-quality training in pragmatic evidence-based approaches and demonstrated excellence in clinical supervision for practicum students in our training clinic.

· Excellent teaching skills with diverse students at the graduate and undergraduate level, with preference for those with teaching experience and familiarity with topics in clinical psychology.

· Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusiveness, and understanding of the social determinants of mental health. Experience working with people from diverse/underrepresented backgrounds.
