CUNY Clinical Professor - Speech Language Pathology in Queens, New York

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Linguistics & Communication Disorders invites applications for a full-time Clinical Professor position in the graduate Speech Language Pathology program beginning August 2019. Annual reappointments are possible for seven years.

The candidate would join a highly ranked graduate program in Speech–Language Pathology with full-time students, a collegial faculty with varied clinical expertise and applied research interests, small seminar classes and a focus on the integration of coursework, clinical training and research. The program has an excellent reputation in the field and attracts outstanding students. The primary duties include teaching courses within the graduate program, possible mentorship of students in the on-site clinic or teaching an UG CSD course, and providing service to the program and profession. Research is encouraged but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree and Certificate of Clinical Competence for Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or currently meet the qualifications for that certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Doctoral degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology or related field. 5 years or more of full time, professional clinical experience post master’s degree. Specialization in adult neurogenic speech and language disorders or school age/language learning disorders preferred. However, all excellent candidates will be given serious consideration. Prior teaching experience with graduate students or candidates for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is a plus.
