POSITION DETAILS
Queensborough Community College, part of the City University of New York, invites applications for the position of Diversity Programs Manager in the Office of Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (OEIB).
OEIB strategically partners with constituencies across Queensborough to operationalize the College’s commitment to producing equitable outcomes for students, staff, and faculty. OEIB is charged with oversight of the College’s equal opportunity and affirmative action programs and policies. In addition to ensuring compliance with federal, state, city and CUNY policies and laws, OEIB provides programming and learning opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills needed to identify, understand and address existing equity gaps. OEIB also strives to serve as a hub for community-building that will help foster a sense of belonging for the College’s many diverse populations. Additionally, OEIB endeavors to provide a low-stakes environment for community members to discuss concerns, raise questions, and identify solutions to challenges.
OEIB seeks a dynamic and action-oriented team member who will serve as the Diversity Programs Manager. The manager will report directly to the Assistant Vice President for Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
In addition to the duties outlined in the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include:
Design, implement, and coordinate complex, high-quality professional development programs that further understanding, functioning, and appreciation of inclusive and equitable learning and work environments.
Produce and deliver engaging workshops on topics such as microaggressions, implicit bias, conflict management, communication, effective team management, and change management.
Provide consultative support as a designated campus resource for individuals and groups engaged in addressing workplace conflict, issues, or concerns
Develop, collect, and disseminate resources and activities to support the development of inclusive mindsets, behaviors, and practices across the organization.
Provide coaching and consultation to individuals, managers, and groups regarding cross-cultural interactions and conflicts.
Develop and manage a robust resource library and actively enhance Queensborough’s link to information and resources for members of communities historically excluded from higher education.
Serve as the communications liaison for the OEIB and help develop and maintain the office’s website and all communications materials.
Develop and coordinate program activities including forming committees, scheduling, event logistics, and vendor relations.
Liaise with identity-based affinity groups, link groups to needed support, and address barriers.
Support activities for the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Campus Center

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced in diversity, equity and/or inclusion program development
Experience with full professional development cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
Experience building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with internal and external constituencies
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge aboutcurrent societal and political discourse related to racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, homophobia, and other forms of discrimination
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with others
Experience with group facilitation
Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with various organizational roles and from a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies, including personal and social orientations
Demonstrated high level of emotional intelligence, reliability, adaptability, integrity, and empathy
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Manages diversity policies, procedures, and initiatives to support CUNY's strong commitment to a diverse and respectful workplace.
Oversees the implementation, administration, and communication of diversity programs
Collaborates with the college Chief Diversity Officer and campus management to develop and implement programs, prepare plans and reports, perform internal compliance audits, and resolve questions and concerns
Prepares and trains on CUNY compliance mandates and relevant city, state, and federal statutes such as Title VII, Title IX (Sexual Harassment Policies), Section 504, and the Americans with Disabilities Act
Collects, analyzes, and prepares reports, identifying and presenting findings, patterns and trends, and recommending college policy and procedural changes
Performs related duties as assigned.
