The primary objective of the Budget Office at LaGuardia Community College is to align planning and budgeting activities and processes to effectively and efficiently maintain and develop human, physical, and financial resources for the College. The Budget Office provides timely and accurate information so that senior leadership, business managers and University central administration can make information decisions.
Reporting to the Budget Director, the Finance Coordinator assists with the daily activities of the Budget Office, including:
Assist in the implementation of the college's annual Budget;
Process budget modifications in various financial information systems;
Monitor, analyze, and reconcile budgets and expenditures within various financial systems;
Prepare, reconcile, and distribute monthly and annual budget reports;
Coordinate with program managers, directors and liaisons to ensure restricted program budgets are aligned correctly according to the program proposal, and that expenses are reflected timely and accurately.
Assist Budget Director with performing various college-wide projections and analyses.
Assist with CUNYfirst payroll upload process. Run reports and make corrections as necessary.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Two (2) years of experience in budget finance, accounting, or related area preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) preferred.
Strong interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills preferred.

Collects and reports fiscal information as required, and assists in analyzing financial information
Coordinates with various departments on budget and accounting matters
