POSITION DETAILS

Reporting to the Finance Manager in the Office of Revenue Accounting, the Finance Coordinator assists with financial activities including Tuition and Fee Revenue, Student Refunds, Income Fund Reimbursable Finances (IFR), and other campus-wide financial areas.

Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in analysis and reconciliation of tuition and fee revenue and campus housing revenue

  • Query data from Student Financials to assist in preparing revenue projections

  • Prepare timely billing of IFR and other activities

  • Assist in month end close and prepare deliverables for CUNY mid-year and year end close

  • Assist with annual audit for Tuition and Fee Revenue and other campus-wide financial areas

  • Assist with month end close and bank reconciliation for Professional Continuing Education

  • Work with Finance Manager to maintain accurate and complete financial accounting of deposits and payments through CUNYfirst

  • Attend University-wide meetings and seminars to ensure full knowledge of current issues and changing policies and procedures related to the College’s business operations

  • Assist with GASB87 compliance and reporting

  • Assist with developing policies, procedures, and training documents

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting preferred

  • Accounting or Finance experience for Higher Education

  • Work experience in CUNYfirst/Peoplesoft/Oracle system Financials Supply Chain

  • Work experience in compiling large datasets/queries to create informative reports

  • Work experience in Financial Edge or similar accounting software

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIF, and Pivot Tables

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word & Powerpoint

  • Ability to work independently once training is provided

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Prepares, reconciles and distributes expenditure and related accounting reports

  • Creates and maintains various spreadsheets related to financial analysis

  • Processes and tracks transactional entries

  • Provides support in the administration of various business operations

  • Coordinates with various departments on accounting matters

  • Monitors systems and operations to assure a smooth workflow

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary range $46,903 - $50,745
