Reporting to the IT Sr. Associate, the IT Assistant performs the following duties:
Maintain and troubleshoot hardware/software issues in computer labs - MAC, PC, printer, and projectors;
Monitor the smooth operation of labs and smart-rooms daily by setting up required resources;
Provide feedback and help domain administrators to resolve network connectivity issues, software/hardware upgrades, and deployment;
Assist faculty/students in the use of educational applications via phone, email, and in-person;
Administer and maintain departmental SharePoint sites and sub-sites; assist with and maintain Software licensing Management System (SLiMS); design, deploy and support workflow in SharePoint Site; design, deploy custom forms in SharePoint using MS InfoPath;
Maintain and update Active Directory (AD); assist daily operations servers (print servers, Papercut, Deep Freeze, Global View, Lab Domains); manage Group Policy; script and implement windows batch files for regular maintenance in labs & smart rooms;
Assist with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Server 2012; create reports and queries to collect hardware inventory; configure and assist with Windows OS deployment using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and Windows Deployment Services;
Configure, deploy and maintain Hyper V 2016 bare-metal server; perform setup and test Virtual Machine in Hyper V Environment; setup and manage Storage Area Network (SAN);
Setup and maintain SQL server to store analytical data; script and deploy vbscript and windows batch file to collect analytical data in open labs; create analytical reports using MS Excel Power View & PivotChart.
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
A minimum of six months of full-time experience in a computer or technology-related position. Experience that is more than 20 hours per week and less than 35 hours per week may be counted at 50% of the requirement (i.e., two months of part time experience equal to one month full time experience)
Additional experience and/or education that can be met by ONE of the following: An additional three years and six months of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; an Associate's degree plus 18 months of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Demonstrated English Language proficiency
A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This title has three levels. To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.
New Hire: $45,464* Incumbent: $51,374 *This amount reflects a 13% salary suppression in effect for the first 24 months of employment only.
