The English Department at LaGuardia Community College is seeking highly motivated and innovative candidates to fill a full-time tenure-track position in English with specialization in journalism at the Lecturer or Lecturer with Doctorate level.
The Lecturer / Doctoral Lecture will teach courses in broadcast, print/online, and/or multimedia journalism, developmental writing, college composition, and literature; provide academic advisement of students; actively participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives, including curriculum development and professional development activities; and be engaged in scholarly activities, such as conference participation.
QUALIFICATIONS
For Doctoral Lecturer:
Ph.D. in journalism or related field required. Significant professional experience in broadcast journalism, print/online, and/or multimedia journalism in a reputable media organization and related professional activity required. Experience with reporting in diverse communities is desirable. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated professional achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
For Lecturer:
Master's degree in journalism or related field required. Significant professional experience in broadcast journalism, print/online, and/or multimedia journalism in a reputable media organization and related professional activity required. COMPENSATION
For Lecturer: $52,072 - $69,983
For Doctoral Lecturer:$56,821 - $75,215
