The Wellness Center is currently seeking applicants for a part-time counselor position. Reporting to the Director of the Wellness Center, the counselor will provide mental health services to a diverse student body. The activities and responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments in order to formulate appropriate recommendations;

  • Provide short-term counseling services addressing a wide array of presenting problems and symptom presentations

  • Consult with faculty and staff with the goal of helping to assess emergent student crisis and to provide guidance on how to identify and engage students in distress

  • Provide weekly clinical supervision for counseling staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) OR a Master’s degree in an appropriate mental health discipline AND a New York State license as a mental health practitioner (Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling) with 6 years of related experience.

  • The position follows a hybrid schedule. Candidate must be available to work on campus some days (Monday through Friday).

COMPENSATION

$52.55/hour. 12-14 hours per week.
