CUNY Student Psychological Counselor: Student Counseling Center at York College/CUNY in Queens, New York
Reporting to the Director of Counseling, this position, in addition to duties listed in the CUNY Title Overview, will:
Provide psychological counseling to a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students with a wide range of career, academic, personal, and mental health issues.
Conduct crisis intervention and assessments.
Plan, develop, coordinate, and present outreach/counseling initiatives and workshops.
Serve as a liaison between the Counseling Center and an assigned York College School.
As part of a team, develop and lead probation workshops for students who are on academic probation.
Participate in Student Development Divisional activities including New Student Orientation and Study Up ‘Til Midnight.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services.
Serve on-campus committees to promote student success.
Work evening and weekend hours as needed.
This position is required to work one evening a week.
A Doctoral degree in Psychology to include Ph.D. and Psy.D. programs OR A Master's degree in an appropriate discipline for person or psychological counseling AND a New York State license as a mental health practitioner (social work, psychology, or mental health counseling).
In addition, six years' professional experience is required for all candidates.

Consults with instructional and administrative staff regarding student mental health issues; may prepare and present outreach initiatives and workshops

Performs related duties as assigned.
