CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The School of Business of the College of Staten Island of the City University of New York invites applicants for a tenure-track position as a College Laboratory Technician in the Department of Accounting and Finance, beginning in the Fall semester of 2018. The successful applicant will oversee the operations and maintenance of the Con Edison Trading Room in the School of Business, a newly-established 30-seat experiential learning facility. The position will work with faculty and students on financial research projects, curriculum development, and class activities, and will also interact with various offices on campus to develop outreach efforts that utilize the Trading Room. Specializations of interest include financial data, Bloomberg terminals, and energy trading.
The College of Staten Island (CSI) is a City University of New York (CUNY) senior College organized around two academic divisions and three schools, with over 14,000 students. The School of Business has more than 2,200 majors and offers an AAS in Business, a BS in Accounting, a BS in Business with concentrations in Management, Marketing, Finance, and International Business, and a BA and a BS in Economics. High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
A baccalaureate degree or equivalent in Finance or other appropriate area is highly desired. Working knowledge of financial data systems and financial trading software such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters and Value Line is strongly desired. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word is preferred.
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
